Physico-chemical data, Zurbano, Alegría, Spain

CDS THEIA-OMP
Source

This dataset was obtained during the Aguaflash program. It contains data measured at Zurbano situated on the Alegría river, at the East of Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country, Ebre watershed). The Alegría drains an area of 94 km². The catchment is dominated by forests upstream, and by intensive agriculture in the alluvial plain downstream (beets, potatoes, cereals). Soils are mostly calcic with a clay-rich bedrock. The hydrological regime is pluvial, with an average annual discharge of 0.55 m³/s and average annual precipitation between 500 and 700 mm. The discharge is highly influenced by the aquifer and this catchment is a vulnerable area for nitrates.
