This file contains precipitation data for Ny-Alesund from 01/01/1975 to 31/12/2022. It contains observed data downloaded from the database of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute accesible via https://seklima.met.no/ (last accessed on 20/12/2023). The corrected data correspond to the data described in O. Champagne et al., Artificial Trends or Real Changes? Investigating Precipitation Records in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, Journal of Hydrometeorology, DOI JHM-D-23-0182.1, 2024 (Preprint available here: https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/hydr/aop/JHM-D-23-0182.1/JHM-D-23-0182.1.xml). It includes precipitation separated in rain and snow corrected using 11 different methods as well as the ensemble mean, all described in the manuscript. The columns represent the following data: 1. Date+time [UTC]: Date and time in UTC (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss) of the collection of the precipitation, i.e. the indicated precipitation values correspond to the precipitation collected in the following 12h period 2. Observed rain: observed liquid precipitation in mm, derived from observed total precipitation as a function of temperature and solid to total precipiation ratios as described in Champagne et al. 3.
