ASD Remote Sensing Reflectance

Reflectance measurements were collected using a portable field spectroradiometer (FieldSpec FR Pro; Analytical Spectral Devices – ASD, Boulder, CO, USA), covering 2151 spectral bands from the visible to the shortwave infrared (0.35–2.5 µm). Data were acquired during five field campaigns, for a total of eight measurement days: 26 May 2022, 29 June 2022, 19–20 April 2023, 22 June 2023, and 31 July–1 August and 3 August 2023. Sky and water‑leaving radiances were collected and normalized using a gray reference panel with 30% albedo (Spectralon, Labsphere, NH, USA). The radiometer was alternately pointed downward toward the river surface and upward toward the sky at the required zenith (45°) and azimuth (90° or 180°) angles. After each set of radiance measurements (10 acquisitions for both water and sky), the instrument recorded the radiance from the horizontal gray panel. To account for spatial variability, multiple spectra (at least five) were collected at each station and subsequently averaged. All spectra were processed using ViewSpec Pro 6.0 to derive the remote sensing reflectance Rrs(λ) (sr⁻¹), defined as the ratio between the water‑leaving radiance Lw(θ, φ, λ) and the downwelling spectral irradiance Es(λ).
