Timeseries of the snow surface temperature acquired at the Col du Lautaret (French Alps) during two winter seasons with an uncooled thermal infrared camera

This dataset contains maps of the surface temperature of snow acquired at the Col du Lautaret (45.0347 N, 6.4051 E, 2057 m a.s.l.) acquired every 2 minutes during winter 2021-2022 and spring 2023 with an Optris PI640i thermal infrared camera. The dataset also includes timeseries of RGB images of the scene acquired every 10 minutes during operation of the TIR camera, timeseries of the surface temperature, incoming longwave radiation, air temperature, air humidity and wind speed acquired every 30 seconds at two distinct points in the camera’s field of view (AWS-North, 45.0317 N 6.3948 E, and AWS-South, 45.0335 N 6.3950) and the TIR camera’s internal temperature. Images were acquired between 2021-11-20 and 2022-05-12 during the first season, and between 2023-02-10 and 2023-05-24 during the second season. The images were filtered for foggy and snowy conditions, processed radiometrically and orthoprojected on a digital elevation model. The result is 130019 maps with 464x506 pixels at 2 m resolution in the EPSG:32632 projection. The maps are singleband and the surface temperature data is in float32 format.
