Morpho-sedimentary monitoring and modelling of the Wild Moselle River (Charmes–Bayon, France)
This repository originates from a four-year research program on the Wild Moselle River between Charmes and Bayon, within the Moselle Sauvage Regional Nature Reserve, the most dynamic large river reach in northeastern France. The site has undergone significant morphological changes due to past gravel mining and bank stabilization, leading to risks of channel deviation and potential impacts on infrastructures such as the Bainville-aux-Miroirs bridge and weir. To document and anticipate these changes, extensive field monitoring and numerical modelling were conducted. The combination of dense field instrumentation and advanced modelling provides unprecedented insights into flood-driven sediment transport processes and offers a basis for management strategies for the conservation and sustainable management of the Moselle Sauvage.
